Wildfox Trunk Show

A few weeks ago we hosted a Wildfox trunk show downtown at the shop. We had the Summer "Pin-Up" collection out for preview as well as multiple other items from the more recent collections! It was an awesome Sunday complete with mimosas, pink champagne cupcakes and Wildfox logo printed cookies! We are SO excited for the summer collection to be in store! If you didn't stop by.. you were missed! Enjoy the pics, xoxo

A look Behind the Curtain: A Sweet Re-Merch

Erin's Favorite part of the job (that has easily become mine as well) is remerchandising the Sweetlife floor. Almost monthly we go in switch up the clothes to create a fresh pretty store for all you shoppers ;) We try to showcase our favorite styles of the season or of the hottest trends. Its a really fun creative aspect of any retail store! Erin has a collection of adorable props, pretty furnature, and other old and quirky antiques that are so fun to display different pieces.
Below are some pictures of the most recent Re-merch.

Clothes easly get picked through (which is always a good thing) but can make the store look a little sad. When we notice a rack full of onsies (one size only) or clashing colors we know it's time to re-vamp.
We Start fresh and peel away all the clothes from the shelves and tables then place them on rolling racks.

We try to focus on a certain item or trendy piece that we want to display and draw people in.
The last re-merch we did was after the Summer blowout sale we had. We were ready for fall and focused on gunge for september and october. We dsiplayed vintage Levi's, Military jackets, and a lot of plaid.
This time around Pre-Holiday was on the brain. The results: tables full of studs and rich deep colors, beenies, scarves gloves and sweaters. The racks full of cool colors, furs, a studs and leather.

Shawna's New Fall Obsession

It's that time of year again! When we crave anything warm and savory. Like apple cider, coffee, fresh baked goods, and warm soups and stews.
This Hearty Fall soup is both guilt free and delicious! Full of fresh veggies and filled with protein this soup is the perfect "easy prep" meal for any fall night. Shawna, a devotee to the paleo diet cooks this soup frequently and we can't blame her! You will too once you've tried it!

What you'll need: (pictured above)
- 3 small Sweet Potatoes
- Coconut cream (3/4 cup)
-1 bunch fresh Kale
- 3 cloves of minced Garlic
- Chicken Broth (2 cups)
- Beef Broth (2 cups)
- 1 pound ground Italian sausage
-Coconut oil (table spoon)
- 2 teaspoons each: dried oregano, dried basil, pepper, thyme.
- 2 bay leaves
- A large soup pot
- Soup spoon
- potato peeler
-measuring cups

1.)Melt the coconut oil in large soup pot.
2.) Brown the Italian sausage after the oil is heated
3.) While sausage is cooking, cut your sweet potatoes (after peeling) into even sized chunks. (as pictured above)
4.) After the sausage is brown, add sweet potatoes and garlic cloves. Stir to combine.
5.) Next, add all other spices. Bay leaves, basil, pepper, oregano and thyme.
6.) Next, add 3/4 cup coconut cream and the chicken and beef broths. Stir to combine.
7.) Add the whole bag of Kale. Shawnna prefers the ready-cut bag from trader joes.
8.) Stir kale into soup. Bring to a boil and let simmer for 30 min.
Lastly, warm up with your healthy and hearty fall creation!
